2020 Trip

Download fillable application forms here

Dear Korean War MIA/KIA Family Member,

Thank you for your interest in honoring your loved one by participating in the Revisit Korea Program. This email is to let you know about some changes in the program and application process we recently received from the MPVA as well as a few other important changes we found necessary to make for the 2020 Revisit trip.

  1. The official travel dates are: Departure from the U.S. on Sunday September 20, 2020 and return on Saturday September 26, 2020. You will make your own travel arrangements and are free to depart sooner and/or return later than the above dates, with no problem, but any additional hotel stays will be at your expense. The MPVA will reimburse you in Seoul for their portion of your flight costs, both domestic and international, based on economy class, most direct routing from you home airport to Incheon International Airport (ICN).
  • Administrative fee will increase from $200 to $250 on April 1, 2020. Since we are limited to 50 participants this year we find it necessary to institute a first-come-first-serve policy meaning that both the basic 1-page application and completed release forms (download fillable forms here), and administrative fee need to be received before your place “on the bus” is secured. In addition, the drop-out policy will now be to refund ½ (one-half) of the fee up to one month before official departure (i.e. August 23) after which time no refund will be given. Please send check or money order to the address below. Thanks.
  • Please print, fill out, sign, and initial as indicated the three page Release and Consent Form (application pages 4-6). You may either scan the completed forms back into your computer and send electronically or mail to the address below.
  • The MPVA is very concerned with your health and welfare while you are in Korea. Please complete the attached Medical History Form as you are able, especially the yes/no questions and list any critical medications they should be aware of in case of loss or other medical emergency. Also, please indicate your blood type if you know it but it isn’t absolutely required to do so. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • The MPVA has also asked that we use the attached Comments form. Please fill out this form directly on your computer or the printed form as you wish or write your comments on a separate sheet keeping in mind the limited space available on the form for your answers. 6-7 lines or roughly 140 words can be typed in the space provided for each question.
  • Each participant will need a Valid Passport with an expiration date of at least 20 March 2021, (i.e. 6 months) after expected entry into South Korea. A scanned copy of the photo/data page must be submitted.
  • Each participant is required to submit proof of Emergency Medical Insurance that is valid in South Korea for the time of your visit. If your current medical coverage does not include this benefit it can easily be obtained from a number of on-line providers.
  • Please provide an electronic portrait style photograph of your Loved One.
  • Optional: We strongly encourage participants to write a page-length “Family Story” (in addition to item 5 above) describing what the loss of their loved-one meant to his family and to send photos, both with the serviceman and of his current family. These photos will be inserted into your narrative and serve as a special remembrance of your sacrifice. If agreeable, this document may be distributed to other Revisit families as a way to bring together your common experiences.
